Assemblymember Evan Low Statement on Governor's May Revise

For immediate release:

SACRAMENTO — California Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley) issued the following statement about the Governor’s May budget revision:

“The Governor’s revised budget is generally an improvement on the version he released in January and demonstrates California’s strong fiscal standing. However, I am concerned that under the proposed budget, Prop. 56 revenues will not be allocated to increase Medi-Cal provider reimbursement rates, which is critical to ensuring we have enough doctors in the program to serve our lowest income residents. Using Prop. 56 revenue to increase Medi-Cal reimbursement rates was the intention of the initiative and the will of California voters. I urge Governor Brown to reconsider the Prop. 56 revenue allocations to improve California’s health care system.”
