Spring into Green and State of the Town

The Town of Los Gatos is proud to present Spring Into Green: an event celebrating sustainability in Los Gatos!  Join us  on Sunday, April 22nd 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. as we celebrate Earth Day, Arbor Day, and Keep Los Gatos Beautiful Month in one extravagant event at Town Plaza!  Environmental vendors and partners from the local community will be hosting interactive booths for all ages.  Enjoy live music, activities, and capture the moment with a photo booth souvenir!  This event will take place in conjunction with the Town's weekly Farmers' Market to promote eating and buying locally.  Join us in celebrating the Town's environmental consciousness and learn about sustainability.

Volunteer Tree Planting - Sunday, 4/22/18 by Sempervirens Fund

Join Sempervirens Fund on Sunday, April 22nd from 10:00am-3:00pm to plant trees on Earth Day! We have teamed up with California State Parks for a restoration project on a hillside near the new Robert C. Kirkwood Entrance to Castle Rock.

Earn volunteer hours and celebrate Earth Day 2018 by keeping your community clean with Councilmember Chappie Jones! This year, District 1's hub location will be at Country Lane Elementary School, located at 5140 Country Lane, San Jose, CA 95129. This is on Sat, April 21, 2018 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Join us on January 15 from 9 am - noon at Hamann Park. We'll be working to transform the park in just three short hours. Tools are provided by the cities of San Jose and Campbell, and light refreshments will be provided courtesy of Assemblymember Evan Low. Just come with closed-toe shoes and dressed in layers, ready to work!

Tasks and goals include: planting 5 trees, refilling and refreshing bark in playground area, refilling sand in sand box area, painting wooden structures such as picnic tables, benches and bleachers; and adding mulch to garden beds.

When: January 15, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Assemblymember Low will be providing light refreshments in the morning and delivering brief remarks to welcome volunteers

Stand Speak Act GraphicHate crimes are on the rise in California. If you witnessed someone being bullied, harassed or assaulted, would you know how to respond?

Please join the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and my office for a Bystander Intervention Training. In this training, participants will learn how to disrupt harassment as it is taking place thus creating a safer community. Trainers from CAIR will provide participants with tools and strategies on how to safely intervene if they witness a bias incident or hate crime taking place.
